Successful applicants will be employed directly by the disabled person who receives support from the Support Service to do this. It is important to note that it is not Choices and Rights Disability Coalition that is the employer. Further information: A Female Personal Assistant is required to provide support to a disabled lady, who lives in the HU9 area of Hull.
This lady has various medical conditions, she can easily become breathless and fatigued and is a wheelchair user.
This lady enjoys writing and going swimming. The PA would be required to accompany this lady to go to the Cinema, theatre and swimming.
She is looking for a PA who would be able to support her with all aspects of daily living and some personal care, domestic support, such as meal preparation, support to attend medical appointments and support to access a range of leisure activities. The PA will be required to provide cheerful, dignified support under the direction of this lady.
A car driver with their own car that can carry a folded manual wheelchair is preferred.
Having a warm friendly disposition is a key requirement. Applicants should also have a genuine interest in working with disabled people, be honest and trustworthy, and have a confident nature. In addition applicants should be good at communicating, and be able to build good relationships with people, based on trust and respect.
The applicant must be flexible in their approach to work, willing to follow the directions of the disabled person and like a job that can be demanding but varied.
