Location: HU14 area of East Yorkshire

Rate of pay: £11 per hour
Hours:  Approximately 25 hours to be negotiated, mostly in the afternoons and evenings with some weekend work. There is also the potential to cover the current carer’s hours when they are on leave.

Days: Monday-Friday with some weekend work.

Further information: A Female Personal Assistant is required for a lady in the HU14 area of East Yorkshire.

The PA will be expected to be stimulating, good company and provide support for this lady with everyday tasks such as washing, dressing and getting ready for bed. The preparation of food and drink will be necessary.

Patience is required as this lady has memory issues: on a good day, she is still very sharp and witty but may get her words confused.  The PA will need to speak slowly in order that she can keep up with the conversation.  She also wears hearing aids and suffers with tinnitus.

She has a heart condition and can get out of breath when exerting herself.  That said, she is reasonably active and enjoys going for walks and doing Jane Fonda walk-out classes. She is very sociable, used to be a keen artist and fabric designer and loves Miss Marple mysteries.  She used to design and make her own clothes and enjoys doing this so a PA with a similar interest would be ideal, but not essential.

The PA will need to accompany this lady to activities and appointments so a car driver with their own transport would be preferred.

As this lady is a non-smoker she likes the atmosphere in the home to be fresh and clean, so smoking will not be permitted in her property.

The successful applicant will be employed subject to a DBS check.
