Further Information: A Male Personal Assistant is needed to support an autistic 20 years old, non-verbal young man. This young man enjoys walking, swimming and trampolining. A car driver would be preferred; however, this is not essential. The main duties will include some personal care and basic hygiene assistance, support to access the community and community activities so the PA must have a strongly developed sense of justice in supporting the social inclusion of disabled people in their local community. An essential quality the ideal PA will possess is excellent communication skills and be able to stay calm and deal with difficult situations. Ideally the PA should have some experience of working/training working with autism though training will be given. Applicants should have a genuine interest in working with disabled people, be honest and trustworthy, and have a confident nature with the ability to remain calm.
