Successful applicants will be employed directly by the disabled person who receives support from the Support Service to do this. Further information:

A Personal Assistant is required to support an 12yr old boy in the HU5 area of Hull who has Downs Syndrome and is on the Autistic Spectrum. The support is required at weekends and school holidays.
He will need assistance with all aspects of personal care including help with dressing, washing, feeding himself and toileting. He has to wear a nappy and the PA will be required to change him.
The PA will also be required to support the boy through interactive play. He is self-content and does not have tantrums. The job is varied and interesting.
Previous experience of working with young people who are autistic and/or qualification would be an advantage but not essential as all necessary training will be given.
Applicants should have a genuine interest in working with young disabled people, be honest and trustworthy, be good at communicating and be able to build good relationships with young people, based on trust and respect.
The successful applicant will be employed subject to a satisfactory DBS check.
3hrs per week are available to be worked at weekends.
