A Personal Assistant is required to support a teenage girl living in the HU7 area of Hull. She enjoys listening to music, swimming, shopping and going to the cinema. She walks slowly and can only walk short distances before needing to sit and rest.
Your role will be to support her with engaging in social activities within the local area and improving her life skills and development. In particular, you will support her to develop her confidence in using buses.
You will be very aware that this girl has poor awareness of danger and gets easily distracted. You must ensure her health and safety is of paramount importance at all times
Applicants should be good at communicating, and be able to build good relationships with people, based on trust and respect
Experience of supporting young people with autism would be an advantage
Owing to the nature of this position, any offer of employment will be subject to a satisfactory checking report from the Disclosure and Barring Service, the cost of which will be met by the local authority.
