A Personal Assistant (PA) is required to support an 11year old boy in the HU3 area of Hull.
The PA will be required to work flexibly to assist and support this boy to access activities in the local community one night per week and at the weekend. Mum will accompany the PA until the PA understands the boy’s behaviour.
He loves to go swimming and to go to Big Fun and Gravity. He also likes to go to the park to play on the swings.
He will need support to go to the toilet and may need his nappy changing.
The PA will need to be patient and understanding of this boy’s needs. He can sometimes display challenging behaviour and needs guidance to ensure his behaviours are appropriate. The boy’s mother will guide and instruct the PA how to respond to any challenging behaviour.
Applicants should have a genuine interest in working with disabled people, be honest and trustworthy, and have a confident nature with the ability to remain calm. Applicants will also be able to demonstrate warmth, compassion and unconditional positive regard for the disabled people.
The successful applicant will be prepared to have a DBS check.
