Free Audio Listening Books

We want to make it as easy as possible to access our service, so we offer two ways to listen to our audiobooks.

1. Streaming through our website.

Members can borrow titles and then stream them through our website 24 hours a day, 7 days per week. All your titles that you have borrowed will appear in your online account under Current Streaming Loans, so you can find the title again whenever you need. Select Listen Now in Browser to open the audio player and listen to your title.

We also offer a selection of Read-a-long titles for younger members, suitable for ages 5-6 year olds. These are picture based e-books that appear with the audio narration, so younger members can follow the text as the story is read. Please note, these titles require an internet connection, so can’t be downloaded.

2. Download titles using the Libby app.

If you prefer, you can download to a portable device such as a phone or tablet, using the free Libby app. The audiobook app is an excellent option if you want to listen while out and about.  There are thousands of titles to choose from, and you can borrow 4 books at a time for a duration of between 7 and 21 days. Audiobooks are automatically returned at the end of the lending period and members can even return titles early, allowing you to borrow up to 20 audiobooks each week.

Our friendly support team are also on hand should you require any assistance, so if you want audiobooks on your iPad, Android Phone, PC computer or another device, they’ll be able to help you get started.
