Hours: 14 hours per week Increasing to 16.
A friendly and patient PA is required to support a 56-year-old lady living with dementia in her own home in the HU5 area. Her husband is the main career, and you will be following directions and instructions from him. The lady’s cognition is variable on a day basis, and she has difficulty communicating with words. Due to her condition the lady is unable to be left alone and her safety has to be considered at all times.
You will need to be able to support the lady maintain all aspects of her daily living such as meal preparation, support with medication, cleaning, laundry and shopping. There will also be a requirement to assist at medical appointments. You must be willing to support her with maintaining her social activities and help ensure she remains active within the community. There will be personal care involved, assisting with showering and dressing so patience, kindness and sensitivity is a must, it is important to the lady that personal appearance and hygiene are maintained.
