A Personal Assistant is required for 3 hours per week term time and 7 hours per week during school holidays to act as a companion and facilitator for a 19-year-old young man who has autism and a moderate learning disability.

The young man states that:

He likes to go for walks when the weather is nice.

He likes shopping for DVD’s and books, and he likes books by David Walliams

He likes going to the cinema to see different types of films but likes ones about wizards and magic.

The successful PA will assist him with this and other activities that he may wish to do.

Applicants should also have a strongly developed sense of social justice in supporting the social inclusion of disabled people in their local community. In addition, they should be honest, reliable, and good at communicating, tolerant and non-judgemental and able to build good relationships based on trust and respect.
