AX1953 Supportive and Patient Personal Assistant required in HU5 for 15 hours per week.

 

A Personal Assistant (PA) is required to support a young lady with Dravet Syndrome in the HU5 area of the city.  This lady has behavioural, developmental delays, delayed language & speech issues and experiences regular seizures which usually occur during the night, although generally her seizures are unpredictable, medications are prescribed to manage the condition

All PA’s must have full knowledge & training in preparation for when seizures occur; Epilepsy plan in place & must be followed at all times, specialist Epilepsy Nurse involved & provides guidance when needed. Experience preferable but family nursing team can provide training.

PA will be required to offer full support with personal hygiene needs, dressing/undressing. Support is needed to ensure She follows a healthy balanced diet; is unable to recognise when she is full. She can eat independently with prompts. She is independently mobile & is inclined to try & climb onto chairs, furniture or work surfaces in the home, she would be at risk of sustaining injuries if she were to fall. PA to be safety aware at all times.

She requires constant supervision & close observation when out in the community, she is very strong and she has no concept of road safety, road hazards.

 She has a well-established routine, she enjoys reading, puzzles & crafting,
