Further information: A Personal Assistant is required for a 13yrs old boy in the HU7 area of Hull.

He most enjoys going out in the car to places or going on any type of transport like the bus and train, and visiting anywhere involving these vehicles too. So a car driver would be preferred with their own car (I will pay mileage when working).  He also loves going swimming and seeing any type of animals and sea life.  He likes going to the park and to the seaside and using his ipad.  He is a very affectionate and loving child.

The PA will be employed to support the boy to access social and leisure activities chosen by him and his mum.  The aim will be to assist him to gain independence from his family with the support of an appropriate adult.

He is 13 years old, but due to having a rare genetic syndrome his developmental age is more of a 4 to 5 year old and he is also non-verbal.  He is a very pleasant and affectionate young boy, and has his own ways of expressing his feelings and needs by making various sounds and gestures to you.

He requires constant supervision as he has little awareness of his surroundings or any type danger and is prone to be clumsy when outside.  He is also incontinent so will require his self and personal care to be supported.

Previous experience of working with children or adults with SEN would be useful, but having the right personality and nature is more important.

The successful applicant will be appointed subject to a DBS check.
