Further information: One or two Personal Assistants (PAs) are required for a gentleman in the HU3 area of Hull.

He likes lots of social interaction, physical contact, humour and banter.  He likes listening to music, snooker on the television and Countdown.  Sensory interaction is very important to him.

He responds well to people who are of a cheerful disposition and involve him in a positive way in what is going on.  He likes going out for walks, seeing cars and buses, lively music, and being entertained.

This gentleman is a wheelchair user and needs help with all aspects of his life.  This includes all aspects of personal care.

The gentleman does not use speech, but can make his feelings known.  His mum is his main carer and she will guide the PAs in how to assist the gentleman.  She will ensure PAs know how to meet the gentleman’s care needs including how to use the hoist that he requires to lift him.

The PAs role falls into two parts, first meeting all aspects of the gentleman’s personal care needs including dressing, washing, toileting and meals, and second, assisting around the house with domestic tasks that the gentleman can not do including cleaning.

The successful applicant(s) will be employed subject to a DBS check.
