Further Information:

A sporty, outgoing and dynamic Personal Assistant is required for a young man in the HU7 area of Hull.

The young man requires support to access social activities of his choice independently of the family. This support will enable him to become more independent, prevent isolation and improve his life skills and development. This role will include encouraging more social interaction and activities like accompanying him to go swimming, go to the cinema. This young man also has a passion for rugby and enjoys talking about and playing rugby.

He experiences difficulties accessing the community due to the result of an acquired brain injury.  He has developed behaviours which cause him to have a limited sense of danger and risk.  The PA would be expected to ensure the young man is kept safe at all times.  You will to develop a good understanding of his needs and build a strong rapport with him.

The PA would be required to accompany this lady to access her community, and get involved in activities she chooses.

She is looking for a PA who would be able to support her with all aspects of daily living. This includes; some personal care, domestic support, such as, supporting to maintain sterile areas in the home to reduce risk of infection, and support this lady to maintain her living environment, along with meal preparation, support to attend medical appointments and support to access a range of leisure and community social activities. The PA will be required to provide cheerful, dignified support under the direction of this lady. Must have positive outlook, and good sense of humour.

A car driver with their own car that can carry a folded manual wheelchair is preferred, but by no means essential. Having a warm friendly disposition is a key requirement. At the weekend, activities may include going for a walk or, when facilities re-open, going ten pin bowling or swimming.

The main role of the PA will be to support this lady to get up in morning and ready for the day.  You will assist with medication organising and administering. This boy will sometimes show impulsive behaviour.  He sometimes needs support to take time to reflect and see how he can avoid similar situations arising again.

He needs structure and routine, and clear and consistent approaches.  He struggles to concentrate and focus, and sometimes needs prompts and reminders to remain task focused.

He has low self-esteem and needs support to increase his self-awareness so that he can function on a day-to-day basis and fit in with his peers.

This young man is originally from Zimbabwe.  He has significant hearing loss and is still getting to grips with learning BSL.  He also has a mild learning disability and requires a PA who will be able to support him to develop various skills, increase his confidence and support him to access activities within his local community.

Applicants must have British Sign Language, ideally to level 2.  Applicants who only have level 1 will be paid at the standard £8.91 per hour and be expected to be studying for level 2; on acquiring level 2 they will qualify for the enhance rate of £9 per hour.

This young man has a keen interest in football and a good sense of humour and enjoys the company of others.
