A Personal Assistant is required for a 6 year old boy who lives in the HU4 area of Hull. He likes to go outside to play on his trampoline and to play with his sensory toys, both upstairs in his bedroom and downstairs.
He needs a PA who will support his development. He likes to play with sensory toys and to watch TV. The PA will need to make sure he is watching TV programmes that are appropriate and suitable. When the weather is good he likes to go outside for a walk and uses his stroller to help with his mobility and to ensure his safety. He likes walks in the local park.
The family need a PA to give them breaks from the caring role and to get him used to doing things without his family.
He needs support with personal care including nappy changes when necessary and he is not yet able to speak. The PA will need to keep him safe as he does not understand nor recognise danger. He is able to dress and undress, but may need support to make sure that he is wearing weather appropriate clothing and may need supervision and support when dressing and undressing.
Important Information: Owing to the nature of this position, any offer of employment will be subject to a satisfactory checking report from the Disclosure and Barring Service, the cost of which will be met by the local authority.
