They are looking for a calm, patient and outgoing PA who can build a positive relationship and support the child to access activities in the community. The child enjoys being active and would love someone who shares an enthusiasm for adventure, wildlife and exploring the outdoors.
Favourite activities include trips to the park, feeding the ducks, swimming, learning new facts, and spending time around animals and nature. The child loves bugs, wildlife, running, climbing and asking lots of questions about the world around them.
The child likes to know exactly what they are doing, where they are going and the order in which activities will take place. Unexpected changes can be difficult, so the successful PA will need to be organised, understanding and able to provide reassurance when plans need to change.
The ideal PA will be fun and engaging whilst remaining calm in challenging situations. Raised voices can be distressing, and the child responds best to clear, patient communication. Rather than simply being told “no”, the child benefits from explanations that help them understand the reasons behind decisions and changes.
The child has sensory needs and enjoys the comfort of soft items, often taking a favourite blanket or a parent’s cardigan when out and about. Overly busy environments can be overwhelming, and large superstores or crowded places are generally not well tolerated.
This role would suit someone who is energetic, patient, reliable and able to support the child to enjoy community activities whilst promoting confidence, independence and wellbeing.
