Occupational requirement: Female Only Role

Female personal assistant required to help a chatty, creative child feel safe, regulated and supported during activities.

We are looking for a female Personal Assistant to support a young child with a range of emotional, sensory and personal care needs. Support will take place mainly at weekends during term time, with hours arranged flexibly depending on how the child is feeling.

This young person is friendly, chatty and enjoys engaging in fun, creative activities. They are very vulnerable and need support to regulate their anxiety and emotions. They are still in nappies, so personal care is required. They enjoy soft play, parks, roleplay, bike rides and crafts, and benefit from a calm, patient PA who can help them feel safe, supported and able to enjoy activities at their own pace.

The PA will support the child on individual outings, with emotional regulation and reassurance, to access safe and enjoyable activities, with personal care, and at a pace that feels comfortable and predictable. Flexibility is essential, as support needs may vary from week to week.

We require a female worker (genuine occupational requirement) who is calm, patient and emotionally attuned. They will need to be reliable and confident supporting a child with anxiety, able to provide personal care, and ideally have an understanding of sensory needs and emotional vulnerability.

Important Information: This post has a genuine occupational requirement for a female worker, therefore only applications from females will be considered. Exempt under the Equality Act 2010 (Schedule 9, Part 1).
